The 16 John Kyrle High School pupils who are members of the Hereford District Schools cross country team are busy training for the Hereford and Worcester Schools Cross Country Championships which will take place on Saturday February 1st.

The JKHS squad members were selected following trials for the Hereford District schools cross country team back in November. Many of the young athletes have been busy at parkrun locations across the local area in preparation for the penultimate stage of the competition.

At Worcester, the athletes are all competing for a position in the top eight which could see them through to the National Schools Cross Country Finals in Leicestershire on March 21st, where previous JKHS pupils Chloe Wheeler and Briony Bishop have competed.

With well over 200 pupils due to attend, competition will be tough but everyone at the school wish the JKHS pupils the best of luck.
