Weston played Pencombe at home on Saturday in division two of the Herefordshire league eventually losing 2-1.
Pencombe who played the first half with the wind behind them started strongly, playing good possession football but Weston competed well until mid way through the first half when Pencombe scored. Pencombe created several more chances but found Weston's goalkeeper Jamie Halfpenny in good form, saving several more times but in the thirty fifth minute one of Pencombe's midfield players let fly from twenty yards which flew into the net making it two nil at half time.
Within minutes of starting the second half some good work on the wing by Paul Baverstock crossed the ball for Darran Smith to score. The game was even until Jason Roberts was judged to have handled the ball inside the penalty box. From the resulting penalty kick Jamie pulled off another superb save to keep Weston in the game. The game was fairly even with both sides creating chances but Weston could not get the second goal.
The Dunbar Packaging player of the match went to Jamie Halfpenny, an outstanding performance.
