Ross Cricket Club Ladies XI travelled to Colwall to play in a friendly match to end the season on Sunday August 24th. Ross and Colwall mixed up their sides to create, the 'Loch Ness Monsters' and 'Kate's XI'. Kate Midwood and Kate Farmer opened the batting for Kate's XI and began to form a good, strong partnership. The Ross junior players particularly shone in the field with Isla Kendall and Alice Wilson confidently showing commitment in stopping and chasing the ball. The pick of the bowling for the Monsters was Chloe Tingle (1-12), Jess Element (0-21), Isla Kendall (1-15) and Louisa Hammond (0-14). Kate's XI went on to put a target of 157 on the board with top scorers James Fortnam (44*) and Kate Farmer (45). Full report in this week's Gazette.
