The ladies of Ross Golf Club were delighted to hear of the success of one of their members, Dorothy Green, in a very prestigious county competition.

The Lady Marling Silver Cup was presented to the Gloucestershire Ladies Golf Association in 1914 by Lady Marling, who had been the Association's president since 1903.

In 1989 to mark their centenary Minchinhampton Golf Club donated another cup to the county, a bronze cup, so that the winners from each division had a dedicated cup.

The Association also has two Coronation medals, Silver and Bronze which are awarded in conjunction with the Cups.

This year's competition was held at South Cerney Golf Course and for the first time in the competition's history both the Bronze Cup and Bronze Medal were won by the same Ross lady.

To secure victory Dorothy played an excellent, solid round of golf scoring a gross 95 and a nett 72.

This latest victory brings to a close a very successful golfing season for Ross Ladies and ensures retiring Lady Captain Amanda Marshall completes her tenure on a high.
