Ross and District Motor Sports Club, together with Hereford Motor Club, held the annual inter-club grass auto test at Hatsford Farm on Sunday, April 24th.
There were 34 entrants across five areas. Clubs involved were; Hereford Motor Club, Cheltenham Motor Club, Maesteg Motor Club, Ross-on-Wye Motor Club and Bridgend Motor Club. The winning clubs are as per the order detailed above.
The winning drivers were Paul Bevan in a Saxo for Hereford, second was Josh Taylor in a Subaru from Cheltenham and John Taylor in a Mini from Maesteg. The top Ross drivers were Jack Barrar in his Ka, followed by Richard Jones in a Lupo.
The event was organised by James Griffiths, who is also the land owner.
He set up five excellent, long and demanding tests over five fields, which kept the competitors on their toes for over three hours. Everybody had a really enjoyable afternoon. It was a pleasure to see so many entrants from across neighbouring counties.
The Ross Club is grateful to James and all the marshals/timekeepers, without whom this event would not be possible. The next Ross grass auto test, which is the first of the series, will be on May 26th. Details can be obtained from the Ross Club House on Kyrle Street, any Thursday night from 8pm.
