Following the popularity and success of last year’s free junior coarse fishing taster sessions, Redbrook Angling Club is holding another set of free taster sessions for any juniors who may wish to take up coarse fishing on a local lake, just outside of Monmouth. This will take place on Saturday, May 20th.
All of the equipment, bait, licences, et cetera, is provided free of charge for use and the sessions will be held with the professional coaches of the Young Anglers Project.
The event has been sponsored by Redbrook Village Trust from funds raised at ‘Live on the Wye.’ It is open on a first come, first served basis to juniors ages six or over who may be interested in trying fishing for the first time, or learning some new skills.
The sessions are structrured, so that supervised tuition is given in the one and a half hour time slots for a maximun of up to six partcipants at a time, starting at 9am, but the spaces are limited and have to be booked in advance with the club.
If you are intersted, please contact Ian Childs on 01600 712558, as soon as possible, and before May 15th - leave a message with your name and number if Ian is out. For further details about the Young Anglers Project, visit the website:?www.younganglersproject.org.uk
