Ross RFC Juniors U10 squad travelled to Longlevens RFC on Sunday for the U10 County Cup, a competition where twice previously Ross had found the standard so high they had failed to make it out of the pool stages.

Ross played three games in their pool of four with a loss first off to the eventual group winners Tewkesbury A's 0-10 which they then followed with a close win against Stroud 10-5 with Poppy Godwin scoring a long distance try and Aiden Street out-sprinting the defence to seal the victory for Ross. A convincing win of 15-0 against Old Pats 2 saw Aiden Street appear on the score sheet again, with tries also from the Cronshaw brothers Max and Ollie, who put their pace to good use. This was enough for Ross to finish runners up in the group, so Ross went through to the quarter finals of the plate competition.

Here they were drawn against Cinderford who had beaten Ross by 50 points to nil in their last meeting. In a game where Ross dominated possession with their aggressive tackling and strong rucking, at half time it remained scoreless. In the second half the blue and whites came out fighting and Ollie Cronshaw scored the only try of the game, rounding the strong Cinderford defence, to seal a place for Ross in the semi-finals.

The semi's will be played at Cleve RFC in Bristol on Sunday March 30th and Ross' opponents will be either North Bristol A, Cirencester or Old Pats A.
