Ross Juniors U10s travelled to Edgar Street on Sunday May 13th to play Hinton in the final of The U10s Mailes Cup.

It was a difficult task as Hinton had won the league and had not lost a game all season only drawing once. The team started a little nervously but gradually got a hold of the game and started to put Hinton on the back foot.

The defence of Rob, James and Will and the Midfield of Finn, Harry, Lewis and Thomas S contained Hinton which enabled them then to create a number of chances with Toby's strong running.

One of the chances was taken before half time from the edge of the box by Thomas P, which gave the team the strength and energy they needed to keep going and cross the finish line as winners. Goalkeeper Jake made a couple of crucial saves as the pressure mounted. The nine and a half minutes of "Fergie Time" did little to ease the already shredded nerves of the watching masses.

Ross supporters packed the main stand inspiring the team to hold onto the lead and when the referee did (eventually!) blow for full time the ground erupted with their cheers.

The team want to say a big thank you to all the supporters, to Dee for organising the coach and the Mighty 8 for providing food afterwards for all of the players and their siblings.
