When Arthur Stonadge of Vitruvian Freemasons Lodge discovered that the group was keen to celebrate its 200th anniversary by supporting initiatives in the local community that involved youth development and provided a legacy for the future, it was not difficult to find just such an opportunity close to home.

Ross Cricket Club has for a few years been investing in its Young Leaders through the Cricket Young Leaders Award which is an ECB initiative that gives boys and girls an early, basic introduction to coaching. It aims also to give young people a leadership role and inspire them to get actively involved in local cricket.

The award is targeted to young people in the 14-18 year old age group and once the Young Leader has completed ten hours of voluntary service, they can receive a "Get Involved" certificate which can be used for evidence in logging volunteer hours for a range of volunteer and sports leadership awards eg the Duke of Edinburgh scheme etc.
