Weston suffered their second consecutive defeat when they lost 2-1 to Wooferton Reserves on Saturday. With Wooferton having won the Herefordshire Football League Division 2 title by beating Torus, on Tuesday night, and turning up with only 12 players due to injury, Weston knew they would still be in a physical battle.

The game started fairly even, Weston got behind the Wooferton defence on several occasions but the final ball across was disappointing. Chances and quality were at a premium in the first half and the game was level 0-0 at half time.

Five minutes into the second half, Weston's hard work was undone when a deflection from club captain Paul Greenhill saw the Wooferton striker score from seven yards out, with a shot that gave keeper Jamie Halfpenny no chance.

Weston then pushed forward and with some good inter-play Paul Baverstock squared the ball across the six yard box for Darran Smith to score from close range.
