WESTON played Hereford City at Hereford Leisure Centre in the first round of the F W Peterson cup. After a poor first half, Weston found themselves two nil down, which had come from giving the ball away too easily.

Weston, who are trying to rebuild a complete new team, started the second half more positively and took control of the game. New signing Meek came and scored two well taken goals, having not played for several seasons.

Neil settled in well and looked sharp around the penalty area. Weston finally scored the winning goal when Jacob Rusinek slammed home from eight yards out with less than ten minutes left.

During the last few minutes Hereford City had three corners, but the Weston defence held out.
