Ross-on-Wye Fire Crew have had a busy morning today (Thursday, June 30th).

They first sprang into action at 4.55am when they were called to Wallance Court retirement accommodation in Station Street to find a fire in an elderly man’s kitchen. The fire was extinguished and ventilation of the property was carried out.

The West Midlands Ambulance Service were also called to attend the incident. They were called at 5.07am and one ambulance attended.The 93-year-old man had suffered smoke inhalation and was given oxygen therapy. The paramedics also checked him over on scene, to make sure he was ok.

Later that morning, at 8.42, crews from Ross-on-Wye attended a road traffic collision at Upton Bishop. The crash involved two cars. One woman had been trapped in a vehicle, but she had already been released, prior to the arrival of the Fire Service. She was then taken to hospital by ambulance.
