Mystery surrounds the claim made by a national newspaper, at the weekend, that TV presenter, Richard Hammond’s home near Ross-on-Wye had been burgled.

The Daily Mail claimed that Bollitree Castle had been burgled ‘James bond ‘ style in an article published on Sunday.

Mr Hammond spoke out on the Drive Tribe website. He denied the incidents saying ‘a burglery where no one breaks in and nothing is stolen is bull...”

West Mercia Police told the Ross Gazette that ’at about 00:25am on March 15th, West Mercia Police received reports that a burglary may have been in progress at a property in Weston-Under-Penyard, Herefordshire.’

The spokesperson said: "Officers attended, and an investigation is ongoing. No items were reported missing at the time of the incident."

The Police said they could not confirm or deny the address at the centre of the investigation.
