Local police officers are investigating a number of crimes which took place in the Ross-on-Wye area, during the past few days. They ask that if any local residents have any further information about any of the following incidents, they call 101, and give the reference number provided.
Criminal damage
One of the shop windows of Gwalia Stores was smashed between 9pm and 11pm on Saturday, July 16th.

Theft from post box
Someone took an envelope from an insecure external post box on Copse Cross Street, which contained a quantity of cash. This took place on Sunday, July 17th between 9am and 8.15pm.

Attempted entry into an old mine
an attempt has been made to force entry into a mine in a village outside Ross-on-Wye, sometime between July 7th and July 13th. The base of the sheet metal door was forced back, but entry to the mine was prevented.

Vehicle damaged
A vehicle parked on the driveway of a house in Lea, overnight between July 11th and 12th, was scratched on both driver and passenger panels by someone, who used a sharp implement to cause the damage.

Theft from shed
A theft took place in Llangarron between 12pm on Sunday, July 10th and 7.10am on Monday, July 11th. A shed situated at the bottom of a garden of a home was broken into. The offender cut both padlocks in order to gain entry to the shed. Items from inside were subsequently stolen.
