Police have advised drivers that both carriageways on the A40 will be closed for several hours due to a serious collision.

The A40 is closed in both directions between the B4164 Whitchurch and A466 Monmouth.Update 4.45 The A40 is now reopened in both directions.Update 21.45 Highways Agency have issued an update to say the closure has been extended. The A40 Herefordshire is now closed between the A49 Bridstow and A466 Monmouth due to a serious collision involving a motorcycle.More updates to follow
