MADAM, So the Herefordshire Recycling Scheme has been so well supported by its residents that Herefordshire Council has decided to penalise them by forcing them to buy their own black bin bags. What sort of cock-eyed approach to customer service is that?
The cost of supplying them to each property has been estimated at the princely sum of three whole pounds—how will that compare with the cost of the extra time taken to collect the assortment of bags from each property.
I am sure that those collecting from my property will be thrilled that instead of one half filled bag they will be required to handle the seven Morrison's carrier bags that I will be leaving out each week. I wonder how long it will be before there are complaints from the Wheelie Bin collectors/sorters about the amount of non-recyclable rubbish that finds in way into these bins?
Perhaps the next proposal from the Council will be for residents to deliver their rubbish to John Kyrle School as this seems to be the Council's favoured home for everything.
