Dear Editor,
I was interested to read in the Ross Gazette last week’s The Gazette View about Railway Services, and the savage cuts some people say that Doctor Beeching is to blame. Others say he was just a mouthpiece for the governments of the time.
To return to no trains at Ross-on-Wye, we do not have any trains at Monmouth either. At one time, there was a gentleman named Eric T Rawlins who had the idea of re-opening the line from Ross-on-Wye to Monmouth. What became of this idea, does anyone know?
