The winner of the Scope poster competition was Amelia Holt, a pupil at St Joseph’s Primary School.
Scope, a charity shop in Ross-on-Wye, recently held a poster competition for their window. Scope were looking for local schools and children to create a poster that would recruit volunteers, and mention Scope’s slogan, “Scope: About disability”.
Erica Pollard, the Manager of Scope, paid a visit to St Joseph’s Primary School on Friday, June 15th, to announce the winner and present them with an art-related prize.
Erica said that the task of choosing a winner was difficult, and thanked the children for all their fantastic entries. She explained how important Scope’s work is, providing for disabled people, and how the children’s posters will help them continue this work.
The two runners up were Eleny Leighton and Estela Erniulyte, and the overall winner was Amelia.
Erica praised Eleny’s depiction of the Ross shop, Estela’s use of bold colours, and Amelia’s focus on Scope’s slogan and the clarity of the design.
Erica added that Scope would love people to pop in to have an informal chat about becoming a volunteer.
