Ross Swimming club held their annual Club Championships competition over a five week period during October and November
Swimmers competed over 50m, 100m, and 200m in all stokes and then race Frontcrawl over the distances of 400m, 800m and 1500m.
In the senior Boys Dale Kernot, Joseph Robins and Jay Richmond were the overall winners
Whilst in the senior girls Alicia Lord, Lizzie Jefferies took the titles with Danny and Sinead Gabb sharing the award in the 13/14 year old category
In the Junior boys Ben Kershaw and Joe Hollis dominated and in the girls Eve Rawlings won in the under 9s while in the 10/11 Harley Kernot won all the events apart the 100m which was won by Trinity Coles.
In the keenly contested under 8s William Boiling came first followed by Jayesh Punn and Joshua Gowling and in the Girls Lucy Powell and Emily Payne shared the spoils followed by Annie Salter and Jessica Punn
Countless personal bests were set over the championships and some long held club records were broken by Harley Kernot and Lizzie Jefferies whilst Ben Kershaw put his name on seven new club records.
Ross Swimming Club aims to ensure that every swimmer enjoys this healthy lifestyle sport and to offer, wherever possible, everyone the opportunity to swim and achieve their personal goals. Ross Swimming club specialises in coaching stroke technique using Stage Eight (competitive swimming) of the National Teaching Plan and motivates and encourages swimmers to join the competitive world of swimming.
