For the first time, five gardens in Brampton Abbotts will be open to the public later this summer.

On June 2nd the gardens will open their gates to the public in support of St Michael’s Hospice.

One of the gardens opening belongs to Viv Lucas and John Sherahilo. Just eight years ago they took over the overgrown plot. Now, it has been transformed into a beautifully loved garden. It has a fair share of quirky objects and a sweeping view of Herefordshire’s rolling countryside from its foot.

Enter from a gravel path at the side of the property which leads to a wildlife pond which is full of fish, and a vegetable patch and chicken run. Various objets d’art items can be found throughout the garden, the most striking being a triple-pronged iron-based installation.

Called ‘Fallen Angel’ the installation was created by John, a local artist and solicitor, and Colin Chetwood, blacksmith, designer and neighbour.
