The summer holidays got off to a flying start when around 80 excited children packed The Venue in Hill Street, for the Ross Baptist Church Holiday Club, ‘Teambuilders’.

In a week long programme taking characters from the Bible, the children learned that everyone has gifts that can be used, about working together, forgiveness and repairing relationships. Craft, games, story telling, music and drama all developed the theme.

For the first time the club catered for younger children aged three and up. Forty volunteers aged between 12 and 82 supported the programme, looking after everything from upfront presentation, groups, catering and nappy changing.

For many, the highlight of the week was a midweek family lunch for over 100 people and appreciative comments from parents flooded the ‘Ross Baptist Church Holiday Activities 2018’ Facebook page.

Holiday Club organiser, Carol Soble said: “We aim to serve our community and this year our free activities which continue with a regular Team Café event for families each Wednesday in August are proving extremely popular.”
