THE community summer events in Ross-on-Wye continue until September.
Today, Wednesday, August 27 Ross Town Council is hosting a Teddy Bear Picnic, in the beautiful surroundings of Caroline Symonds Gardens, close to the town’s bandstand.
The cuddly companions and their young owners will assemble between 11am and 4pm.
This fun-filled, family-friendly event is open to all, and everyone is encouraged to bring a blanket, a picnic, and of course, their favourite teddy bear for a memorable day outdoors.
Children will also be able to enjoy craft activities from Herefordshire Wildlife Trust, face painting, circus activities with Jitterbug circus and seed bomb making from Wye Valley National Landscape.
There will also be a prize for the best-dressed teddy, which will be judged by the town’s deputy mayor, Sarah Freer. So little ones are encouraged to get creative and bring their fluffy friend along.
No booking is required, so bring your picnic basket and favourite soft toy.
The final two performances at Bands in the Park are taking place on Sunday, August 31 with the Love to Sing Choir and on Sunday, September 7 which features the brass sound of AW Parker (Drybrook) Band.
The entertainment continues on Friday, September 12 with a special evening of an outdoor cinema screening under the stars.
With over 400 votes being cast, Wicked was overwhelmingly the chosen film for the screening.
The event at the bandstand will begin at 6.30pm with a selection traders on site ensuring that everyone has something to enjoy while watching the film which starts at 7.45pm.
The town council is hoping that local people and visitors of all ages will come out to enjoy the film and sing your heart out to the iconic soundtrack with your family and friends.

The town council is hoping that the Market House will be transformed into a vibrant hub of international flavours as RR Events brings its popular three-day Continental Food Market to the town.
There will be a variety of street options for all taste buds so, whether you would like to grab something to takeaway and enjoy by the river, Market House steps or even at home.
The market will run from 10am to 6pm on Friday, September 26, and Saturday September 27 September, then a reduced day on Sunday, September 28 between 10am and 4pm.
However, the market will mean there will be an extended closure of Broad Street to its New Street junction.
The date for the Ross-on-Wye Town Council’s Christmas Fayre has been confirmed as Sunday, November 30.
Last year’s Christmas Fayre was a huge success and attracted over 80 stallholders selling local produce, arts, crafts, food, drink and gifts.
Visitors were entertained with a fantastic line up of performers throughout the day including live artists, local choirs and street entertainers. Children also enjoyed visiting Santa’s Grotto, face painting and a special appearance from the Roarsome dinosaurs.
