Balfour Beatty's pothole teams have been struggling to keep up with maintaining Herefordshire's roads amidst the continuing wet weather.
While Balfour say they have completed in excess of 25,500 road defects since September, Ross' Councillors have been fighting for attention in order to get fixed the pot holes appearing on roads across the town.
According to January's Balfour Beatty/Herefordshire Council partnership newsletter, £20million is set to be invested in Herefordshire's roads. However, this money will focus on C roads and unclassified roads.
At last Friday's full council meeting, at Brockington in Herefordshire, Councillor Richard Mayo asked the cabinet member for Infrastructure, Cllr Philip Price, about the investment and also made a plea for the south of the county not to be forgotten when it comes to road repairs. Councillor Mayo expressed frustration that Councillors in the south of the county are "finding it hard to get anything done".
Cllr Price told the Ross Gazette that Councillors in the south of Herefordshire have the same mechanisms available to them, in order to report defects, as all other Councillors across the county.
