Developers have once again submitted plans for 38 houses on land at the Lea, near Ross-on-Wye.

This re-submitted planning application is the third outline application for the same proposed residential development, and follows from the refusal of the first two applications in February 2015 (ref: P142410/O) and September 2015 (ref: P151251/O), despite both previous applications being recommended for approval by officers.

Steve Banner, Chairman of the Lea Action Group told the Ross Gazette:?“We are very concerned that this application has been submitted for the third time and, as far as we can tell, there are no significant changes. The concerns we had over the previous two applications, the risk of flooding, highways safety and over-development are all still relevant.”

An appeal against the refusal of the original planning application has been lodged. This appeal is to be dealt with by way of a public inquiry, which is due to take place in May 2016. Following the refusal of the second application the developers claim that the local Member and local Parish Council now support the proposal.

The Ross Gazette tried to contact Councillor Harry Bramer, the Penyard ward Councillor for further information about this.

Consultation regarding this application began on December 15th and will end on January 14th, 2016. The target determination date has been set for Friday, March 11th.
