MADAM, It was with mixed emotions that last summer I took the difficult decision to hang up my stethoscope at Alton Street Surgery after 21 years and move on, as of New Year's Day 2014.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to those who journeyed with me along the way, including my former practice manager, Joyce Thomas, who has offered me invaluable advice and friendship over the years, past and present practice staff at Alton Street Surgery for their hard work, kindness and good humour, the Practice Associates, the Ross Community Hospital team, medical colleagues from neighbouring practices and local hospitals, and of course my wonderful family.

Special thanks must go to my patients, whom it has been an honour and privilege to serve. I wish you all well as I move on to horizons new.
