The Mayor of Hereford, Councillor Jim Kenyon, was one of the official observers at Much Birch Primary School’s participation in a world record attempt.
The KS2 pupils were all trying to break the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest reading lesson on Friday, June 24th.
The session was led by Assistant Headteacher Mrs Davidson who started with a discussion about books the pupils had read recently. The Mayor even joined in, telling them about his favourite book, the Stick Man, which of course many of the children knew.
Then they watched a video of JK Rowling reading the first chapter of J K Rowling’s novel – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
