Headteacher Nigel Griffiths, staff, governors, parents and, of course, the pupils who worked so hard are all delighted that this summer’s GCSE results at John Kyrle are its best ever.
Year 11 students gained 67% 5+ A*-C including Maths and English at GCSE. This figure is significantly above both national and local averages.
Provisional results released by Herefordshire Council indicate that the local average is 60%. The percentage of pupils achieving GCSE English and mathematics in Herefordshire has surpassed the national average.
Mr Griffiths, said he is delighted for his students and extremely grateful to his staff and governors for their hard work and commitment. He also wanted to give credit to the parents and carers of Year 11 students for their support. He said attendance at parental consultation evenings had been very high and he and the staff appreciate the level of support shown to the students and school.
These record results were achieved with high performance across all subject areas with Maths and English being the best in the school. Mr Griffiths said this all augured very well for very high number of students returning to John Kyrle’s Sixth Form in September.
