Beth Hudson, part of the team at Yeleni Therapy & Support, which offers complementary therapy sessions to people living with cancer, is also spreading the word about an NHS initiative, Living With and Beyond Cancer’.

The aim is to bring together information about services which provide physical and emotional support to people during their cancer journey and beyond, as well as their family members and carers.

A Macmillan support grant recently facilitated a collaboration between GPs, Practice Managers and cancer support services, to produce a poster and leaflet that will help to signpost people to free local services that can support them. Among the various organisations which seek to reduce loneliness and isolation and advise on finances, benefits and rights are two services based in Ross, the Ross-on-Wye Cancer Support Group and Hope Support Services.

Yeleni Therapy & Support is a Hereford based complementary therapy centre and cancer charity that offers a free package of support to anyone, at any age, living with cancer at any stage.

Yeleni was awarded The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2016 and The Macmillan Quality Environment Mark in 2018 recognising it as a centre of excellence for supporting people living with cancer.

In a recent article in the Ross Gazette, a cancer survivor, Terry Williams, wanted to encourage more men to access local cancer information and support which could improve their physical and mental health.

The posters and Herefordshire Cancer Services Information leaflets can be found at the Ross-on-Wye Community Hospital, GP surgeries and other locations.
