A week-long programme of events will mark the county’s support for past, present and future Armed Forces.

Armed Forces Week 2019 began on Monday, June 24th and was launched by flag raising across the county. The Royal British Legion raised the flag in Ross-on-Wye at 10am on Monday, June 24th.

Flags were also raised in Bromyard, at the Heritage Centre and the Halo Centre Memorial Garden, at Leominster’s Town Council Offices and in Hereford High Town.

Armed Forces Week is a national celebration of the contribution made to the country by those who serve and have served in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces. The week gives everyone an opportunity to show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community - from currently serving troops to service families and from veterans to cadets.

Elsewhere in the county, Ledbury raised a flag to the Armed Forces at 10am. The Rifles Regiment began exercising the Freedom of Leominster at 11am from The Grange followed by a march through the town to Corn Square. In Queenswood Country Park at 1pm there will be a dedication of First World War Centenary Memorial Woodland.
