A FOOTBALL match to honour Karl Parker, who died from the effects of sepsis was held last weekend.

A good turnout saw the two teams battle it out on the football pitch at Ross Rugby Club’s ground.

The match was refereed by an Elvis impersonator, fully kitted out in a stage costume.

Prior to the match starting, the younger members of Karl’s family released a dozen ballons into the sky to honour the Elvis fanatic who died from sepsis in 2023.

His family were left devastated after his death, which stemmed from what they believed was a non-serious leg infection.

After the football match, which was raising money for a sepsis charity, also featured a live band, bouncy castles and children's games.
