Local photographer Philip Price is the proud father of student, Peter Price, who has won a ten day trip of a lifetime to Japan.

His contribution to an elegant and ambitious menu celebrating migration and modern British Asian Society propelled Peter, and fellow students, Hugo Montgomery and Alexander McLaren of University College Birmingham, to the top of Zest Quest Asia 2017.

Their triumph was announced at a Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony attended by 280 guests at the Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 on Monday, February 13th.

Philip told the Ross Gazette, “We are really proud of him and thrilled that he has won such a wonderful prize, which is courtesy of the headline sponsor, Panasonic. Their trip will include a visit to the Panasonic factory and its research and development centre, the trip is a prize that money cannot buy.”

Philip added that Peter became interested in food as a catering student at John Kyrle High School and became really passionate about the way it is presented, when he worked on day release at the Chase Hotel in Ross-on-Wye.

His interest has led him to working in Michelin starred restaurants in the Cotswolds and to his course at the University of Birmingham.
