Opening up the Gazebo Tower for visitors managed to raise more than £350 on Bank Holiday Monday, thanks to generous donations.

The money raised will be presented to St Mary’s Church to help with the expense of maintaining the grass cutting in the churchyard.

The Gazebo Tower, in Palace Pound is a holiday home and the family which owns it was so pleased at the number of people who visited that they are opening it again on Bank Holiday Monday, August 28th.

Mark Billingham said he was delighted that so many people said thay had read about the open day in the Ross Gazette that the family was able to make a sizable donation to a local charity.

The local landmark is a grade II listed building, constructed of red sandstone in 1833, as a viewing tower. It has three floors leading to a platform at the top.
