Madam, Like many of your readers, I was saddened to hear about the death of Gordon Lucas but the sadness has been eased by the large number of Ross residents who have either written to your paper or spoken to me in Town about the wonderful man we all knew.I had the privilege to know Gordon for some 30 years and will always remember his wicked sense of humour and over-riding commitment to the town and all of its residents.

Nothing was ever too much trouble for Gordon and his genuine concern for those in trouble or need is a fine example for us all to remember.

I hope that his wife, Margaret, and his children, Neil and Gail, will find that the huge esteem so many people held for Gordon helps ease their pain at his passing.
