The Ross-on-Wye Cancer Support Group is a small friendly group which is open to anyone who has been, or is at present being affected by cancer.

The group meets on the third Tuesday of every month at Ross Community Hospital from 4.30pm to 6.30pm. The members aim to support each other and also organise sessions which may be inspirational or helpful to those affected by cancer.

Recent guest speakers have included Jo Ward-Ellison, a landscape gardener, who explained how to unlock the potential in your garden. She gave lots of ideas and suggestions including planning to open a garden for a charity event.

Another speaker was Brenda Read-Brown. She talks to cancer patients and then she writes a poem about them and their feelings. These poems are being collated into a book with all proceeds going to the Hereford Macmillan Renton Unit.

Dr Ray Owen, Clinical Phycologist gave a talk on mindfulness and the group took part in a meditation. They have also had sessions on the benefits of laughing yoga and physiotherapy, and lots more.

Anyone who thinks that this group might help and support them would be very welcome.
