Wye Valley NHS Trust is holding a volunteer recruitment open day for people from all walks of life who have experience of living with one or more long term health conditions, or are carers, and would like to help others turn their life around.
The volunteer recruitment open day will take place on Thursday, August 2nd, 2018, between 11am to 3pm, at the Kindle Centre in Hereford, located next to Asda Supermarket, and is a great opportunity to call in and find out about what becoming a trained volunteer involves, and to meet other volunteer tutors.
Sue Tobey, Expert Patient’s Programme Co-ordinator at Wye Valley NHS Trust, said: “We provide free six week courses, each session lasting two and half hours per week, for people living with long term health conditions to help them achieve their goals and enhance their health and wellbeing, which includes managing symptoms and pain, healthy eating tips, relaxation techniques and advice on gentle exercise.
“Our courses are tutored by trained volunteers who live with long term health conditions, so they have first-hand experience of learning new ways and techniques to manage their health more effectively.”
