ROSS-ON-WYE was the hottest place in the UK on three occasions last week.
On Thursday, July 10, the town recorded temperatures peaking at 32°C, the hottest in the UK.
And local people did not get any respite over the weekend as temperatures were recorded as being 33C (91.4F) on Saturday July 12 and while slightly cooler on Sunday, July 13 with temperatures peaking 31.1C, both temperatures recorded Ross as being the hottest place in the country.
The heatwave ended on Monday with temperatures dropping to near normal levels with the possibility of some heavy showers or thunderstorms expected over coming days.
An event celebrating the life of Violette Szabó saw an audience of some 200 people, braved the heatwave .
