The team at Rural Media, a Hereford-based production company and charity producing award-winning films and digital arts projects, is celebrating for the second year running, having scooped the ‘Excellence in Digital Content Award.’
They won the award for their First Acts work across the Midlands at the prestigious 2017 Royal Television Society Midlands Awards ceremony, which was held on Thursday, November 30th in Birmingham.
‘First Acts’ is a collaborative skills and production project between Rural Media, Channel 4 and Arts Council England to create exciting short films with 16-24 year old artists and filmmakers, as part of their wider Random Acts strand.
Grant Black, Creative Director at Rural Media and First Acts Executive Producer said: “We’re absolutely thrilled with this award as it’s the culmination of three year’s work for the Rural Media team. But most of all we’re delighted for the 50 plus filmmakers and artists who are the real winners and a shining example of the creative talent that exists across the Midlands”
Peter Knott, Arts Council Midlands Area Director said: “Many congratulations for this RTS Award, which is much deserved and great recognition for the work of Rural Media, the fantastic support that its team has given to young artists from across the Midlands.”
