STUDENTS at John Kyrle High School are celebrating another successful year of GCSE results, with many pupils achieving strong outcomes across a broad range of subjects.
This year's results reflect the hard work, resilience and determination of students, the expertise and commitment of staff, and the strong partnership between school and home that underpins success at John Kyrle.
The results demonstrate that once again that the school continues to provide a high-quality education for young people across Ross-on-Wye and the surrounding area.
The proportion of students achieving five or more GCSE passes at grade four or above, including English and mathematics, increased again to 66 per cent, demonstrating that its students are well prepared for the next stage of their education and future careers.
Performance was particularly strong in the humanities, with history, geography and religious studies delivering excellent outcomes.
Creative iMedia was another standout success, with 100 per cent of students achieving a grade five or above.
Across the cohort, 20 per cent of all grades awarded were grades seven to nine (or equivalent), reflecting the strong achievement of many students across a wide range of subjects.
Incoming headteacher Dr Luke Moseley said: "We believe that every student has success worth celebrating. Whether it’s a student achieving a string of grade nines or a young person who has found aspects of school challenging but is now excited about the next chapter in their life, every achievement matters as success is not simply measured by examination grades, but by resilience, determination and a refusal to give up when life becomes difficult."
"Today's results are about more than examination grades. They represent opportunity, ambition and the start of the next stage of each student's journey.”

Students from this year's GCSE cohort will now move on to a wide range of exciting next steps, including A Levels, vocational qualifications, apprenticeships and specialist training programmes.
Among this year's highest-achieving students were Griff Roberts, who achieved eight grade nine GCSEs, one grade eight and one grade seven; Lily Kayanja, achieved five grade nines, four grade eights and one grade seven; Oliver North, achieved four grade nines, four grade eights and two grade sevens; Oliver Almond, achieved four grade nines, three grade eights, two grade sevens and a grade six while Emma Deacon achieved two distinction stars, one grade nine, five grade eights and two grade sevens.
Over 100 students will continue their studies at John Kyrle Sixth Form, joining a growing and successful post-16 community, which recently celebrated another strong year of A Level outcomes and positive value-added performance.
As the school prepares to open its newly refurbished Sixth Form Centre following an investment of more than £100,000, students will benefit from a range of new facilities and an expanded curriculum.
Headteacher Julian Morgan said: "I am incredibly proud of every student receiving their results this year.
“These outcomes reflect years of hard work, commitment and perseverance, supported by talented staff and supportive families."
"As I celebrate my final GCSE results day as headteacher, I would like to thank our students, staff, governors, parents and the wider community for the trust and support they have shown the school.
“The results demonstrate that the school continues to provide young people with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to flourish in the next stage of their lives."
The school looks forward to supporting many of these students who are continuing their education at John Kyrle High and seeing all of them flourish in the years ahead.
