Residents who park their cars in Station Street, Ross are warned that Amey, on behalf of Herefordshire Council, will be carrying out essential resurfacing works over the weekend of October 8th and 9th.
On Saturday, between 6pm and midnight, the road surface will be dug up and there will only be access into Station Street via Henry Street. On Sunday, between 7am and 6pm, the new road surface will be laid. There will be no access into Station Street, other than for emergency situations until 9.30am to enable the contractor to lay the new surface across the Henry Street junction. Access will then be from Henry Street only for the remainder of the day.
Residents who normally park their vehicles in the street have been asked to park elsewhere for the duration of works. There have been occasions where workers have had to leave a vehicle-sized patch untreated as vehicles have been left.
Chris Howell, Network Engineering Manager for Amey, said: "Generally, residents do make alternative parking arrangements and it is only a small minority that hinder our progress by leaving their vehicles parked where we need to work. Sadly this leads to a repeat visit to the site, more disruption and additional cost.
"We would appeal to all residents who receive a letter or see our signs to make temporary arrangements for their vehicle and speak to their neighbours to ensure they also do so."
Amey is doing the work over a weekend to minimise disruption and advises motorists to follow the diversions during the period of the works.
