During this remembrance period I’ve seen a lot of films on TV about different aspects of WW1. With my Imperial War Museum hat on, I should like to recommend several which have appealed to me.

“They Shall Not Grow Old” – a Peter Jackson (of Lord of the Rings fame) film which is fully restored in colour showing scenes from the Western Front which have been rarely seen before. An added and lovely feature is the sound of soldiers’ voices as interpreted by lip readers. A very moving film.
