Dear Editor

An industrial strawberry scheme is before planners for the third time at Biddlestone in Llangarron. This will carpet nearly 70 acres (that’s more than 1100 tennis courts) in plastic. This will damage the tourist and visitor attraction of the County.

So far more than 600 comments have been made and the opposition is overwhelming. Now the promoter asks the Council to ignore the views from those outside the area. Yet by definition these are the very visitors and tourists we will rely on for economic growth in the future.

You should not have to live close enough to touch this alien plastic blanketing to exercise your right to object. Blue Planet awakened us all to the dangers of plastic degradation.

Beautiful Herefordshire will be on the wrong side of history if it opts for plastification.

It is not too late to make your views known wherever you live.
