Dear Editor

Seeing council cull plans made me think of house sparrows and starings. Perhaps the council got rif od those too. On our farm we would have four nests of starlings, 15 nests of house sparrows, this farm was alive with 120-150 birds. Now have three robins, two dunnocks, two blue tits and four great tits.

When I was younger a hawk attack was like lightning. Today, hawks fly around the building looking for something to eat. In the last three months I can’t remember quite when a hawk went around and around the building over 20 minutes looking for food. Bird culls are not a very good idea.
