It is now five weeks since I originally reported the damaged road surface on the A40.

I rang up Herefordshire Highways reporting the problem and I believe I gave you a reference number 18762041 they gave me.

Unfortunatlely I forgot to ask the call center his name. However, he assured me the damaged road surface was logged onto the system to be investigated.

Visiting Ross on Saturday I noticed the Red anti-skid surface was started to become pitted, the section is 25 yards on after passing the vet surgery on your left, driving towards Ross.

The Ross Gazette contacted Herefordshire Council who said:?“We can confirm that an inspection has taken place, and the defect has been referred to our asset management team.

“Repairs will be prioritised in accordance with the Highways Maintenance Plan, and in the meantime we will continue to monitor the location.”
