Dear Editor

I hope you will publish this plea to your readers. It is regarding a local Ross-on-Wye brewery item.

For over 40 years I have been collecting British Brewery memorabilia and in particular brewery trays. I have well over 1,500 trays with 300 displayed in a mini museum.

For all of these 40 years I have been searching for a tray from the Alton Court Brewery Co Ltd once of Station Street, Ross-on-Wye. I’m sure you know of it. The brewery was acquired by the Stroud Brewery Co Ltd in 1956 and was closed.

The Alton Court Brewery produced quite a number of advertising items but until now I never knew or not whether they produced a tray.

I am now reliably told one was seen at the last Malvern Antiques Fair. My source said a gentleman was carrying the tray having just purchased it for £5. I wish at the very least a photograph had been taken of it.

I spent almost three years creating a reference/history website for known existing trays most of which are in my collection.

If you search www.brewerytrays.co.uk you will see the site including a number of TV appearances one of which was with Philip Serrell on Antiques Road Trip.

On the website there is also an FAQ section which is very useful for creating articles.

I’m simply passionate about the subject and would love to locate the Alton Court Brewery tray, Can you help me?
