Madam, Two letters appeared in the Ross Gazette last week which contained statements that were factually incorrect.

First, Mr Nelson's letter concerning the RoWToP questionnaire. Whilst the Town Council fully supports RoWToP, it is a totally independent organisation and not under the auspices of the Town Council and therefore any problems with the on-line questionnaire are not a reflection of the Town Council's abilities to provide and manage its website.

Secondly, Mr Meek's comments about a planning application. As a Statutory Consultee, the Town Council receives all planning and licence applications, including the Sainsbury's application. The Town Council's Planning Committee meets every four weeks to consider and comment on each application, which are subsequently returned to Herefordshire Council. The comment on the Sainsbury's application forms part of the Planning Committee's minutes of 3 June, which are available through the website; as indeed are all the Town Council's agenda and minutes.

I hope this clarifies the situation and should any town resident have any other questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact the office (details available on the website: http://www.rosstc-herefordshire.gov.uk">www.rosstc-herefordshire.gov.uk).

Town Clerk
