COSTLY PLANS to reshape Ross Library are to be modified, the Gazette has learned.
In response to a Freedom of Information request made by the Gazette, Herefordshire Council has revealed that the original plans were produced by Amey, the council's main contractor, at a cost of £50,262.45.
However, the Gazette has now been told that the scheme is to be revised, presumably at further expense. Although details of the revision have yet to be released, this newspaper understands that the Info Shop will still move to the library – probably to the Dennis Potter Room, which is currently used for meetings and exhibitions.
An open meeting to discuss the council's proposals for Ross Library will take place in the Dennis Potter Room at 5pm on Tuesday October 19th.
