There has been surprise expressed among parents at Weston under Penyard school after it was announced it was to enter into a 'soft federation' with Whitchurch School. With the announcement came the news that present long-standing Weston Head, Mr Bird, would be retiring, along with teacher Mrs Morris.

The changes will be implemented from Easter and both schools will be led by the Head teacher from Whitchurch, Mrs Claire McKeown. Each school retaining its own Governing Body. More of this story in this week's Gazette.
