A man has died following a collision between a mobility scooter and a car on the A49 on Sunday, September 16th.The West Midlands Ambulance Service received a 999 call to reports of a collision between a car and a mobility scooter on the A49 in Much Birch, near to the Axe and Cleaver, at 8.33pm last night. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and two basics doctors attended, together with the Midlands Air Ambulance crew from Strensham in a rapid response car.

On arrival, crews discovered a man, from the mobility scooter, in cardiac arrest. Bystanders were already performing CPR, which ambulance staff took over. Advanced life support was then administered and continued en-route to Hereford Hospital.

Unfortunately, shortly after arriving at the hospital it became clear nothing could be done to save the man, and he was confirmed deceased.

The car driver, a woman in her 40s, was treated for minor injuries and discharged at the scene.
