Christian Aid fundraiser, Nick Simon was welcomed to Ross as he travelled through the town on his 2000 mile cycle marathon from Cork to Camden. His present stage takes him from the West Midlands through Worcester and Ross-on-Wye to Cardiff.

In 2016 Nick completed an 8000 mile ride from Cairo to Capetown.

On the evening of his visit to Ross, on Tuesday, September 12th, Nick was welcomed by well wishers from local churches and organisations. He gave an illustrated talk at Christ Church on his African journey.

The marathon cycle ride and mountain climb is aimed to raise awareness and donations towards Christian Aid’s fight against poverty in Africa.

The audience was captivated by Nick’s graphic story and his energy in completing such a personal challenge.

More information about Nick’s journeys can be found on his web site and blog. Donations were received during the evening totalling over £200 (including Gift Aid).
