Twelve years ago former Ross Mayor Mary Dew decided that the Ross in Bloom competitions needed to be revitalised with a fresh approach and she asked Mary Sinclair Powell to join the committee.

Mary agreed to become secretary and to help out on a temporary basis. She has now decided that twelve years is long enough for a temporary position and has stepped down from organising the local judging and special events. She is hoping that as she was the fresh approach that was needed 12 years ago three or four people will join together to revitalise Ross in Bloom for 2010.
